About SpaceTracker.live astronomy news

Our newsroom follows the stories that change what you can see, track or understand in the sky: spacecraft milestones, satellites re-entering the atmosphere, rocket launches, new discoveries from telescopes such as James Webb and Hubble, and events you can watch from your own location. Every report links to the matching live tool on SpaceTracker.live, so you can check the current position of a spacecraft, the next launch time or tonight’s sky for yourself.

What we cover

  • Space Missions: NASA, ESA, ISRO, CNSA and commercial missions, from the ISS to Voyager in interstellar space.
  • Launches: notable rocket launches and what they carry. See the launch schedule for every upcoming flight.
  • Sky Events: eclipses, meteor showers, supermoons and planetary alignments, with times for your city. Our astronomy calendar lists them all.
  • Planets & Moon, Space Weather, Satellites and Science & Discoveries: solar storms and aurora alerts, constellation news, and new results explained in plain language.

How we report

Reports are written by the SpaceTracker.live Team from primary sources, such as NASA, ESA, JPL, the agencies running each mission and peer-reviewed papers, and each article names its sources. Times are given in UTC and, where useful, converted to local times around the world. When forecasts change, as with re-entry predictions, we update the article and note what changed.
