Before reporting a tracker problem
Many apparent tracker differences are caused by time, observer location, updated orbital records or the distinction between a calculated position and direct telemetry. The How SpaceTracker.live Works page explains the calculation flow, and the tracker accuracy guide covers common reasons two displays may disagree.
What to include in a technical report
- the exact page URL or tracker name;
- the satellite/mission name and NORAD ID when applicable;
- the approximate local time and time zone of the problem;
- your browser and device type;
- whether you used Use My Location or the location search;
- a screenshot when the problem is visual;
- what you expected to happen and what actually happened.
If a problem concerns a local pass, azimuth, elevation or moonrise/moonset time, include the city, town, village or approximate place selected in the tool. There is no need to provide a home address.
Satellite names, catalog records and orbital data
If you believe a spacecraft name, NORAD ID, international designator, mission description or orbital display is wrong, identify the affected page and the field you believe needs correction. Public catalogs can change after launches, maneuvers and object identification updates, so a correction request is easier to investigate when it includes the exact object and time.
SpaceTracker.live does not control the underlying CelesTrak or NASA/JPL data. Where the website accurately reflects an upstream record, official catalog corrections must ultimately come from the responsible data provider.
Editorial corrections
For a factual issue in a tracker guide or blog article, send the article URL, the sentence or section concerned and, if possible, a reliable primary source supporting the correction. We distinguish editorial content from live calculated values, so this helps route the report correctly.
Privacy requests
For questions about browser location, local storage, cookies, analytics, advertising or other data-handling topics, read the Privacy Policy. If you still need assistance, email us with the subject Privacy Request – SpaceTracker.live.
Copyright and intellectual-property notices
If you believe material on SpaceTracker.live infringes copyright, trademark or another intellectual-property right, identify the protected material, the SpaceTracker.live URL concerned, the basis of your claim and a reliable way to contact you. Legitimate notices will be reviewed.
Accessibility and usability feedback
If a tracker, article or navigation element is difficult to use with a keyboard, screen reader, zoomed text or a small display, please tell us which page and device you used. Accessibility reports are especially useful when they describe the control or content that was difficult to reach, read or operate. We treat this separately from orbital-data corrections so the right part of the site can be reviewed.
Business enquiries
For legitimate partnership or business enquiries, provide the organization name, a clear proposal and a contact person. Advertising or sponsorship enquiries do not influence the calculations, data-source descriptions or editorial conclusions presented by the site.
What SpaceTracker.live cannot do
SpaceTracker.live is an independent educational service, not a spacecraft operator or mission-control center. We cannot command a satellite, change an orbit, contact astronauts, handle launch emergencies, provide certified aviation/maritime tracking, perform conjunction assessment or supply official mission-control support.
For official mission status, emergencies or operational decisions, contact the responsible agency, operator or emergency authority.
Response expectations
We review legitimate messages and respond when a response is appropriate. Spam, abusive messages, automated solicitations and requests unrelated to SpaceTracker.live may not receive a reply.
